Life is conversational. Web design should be the same way. On the web, you’re talking to someone you’ve probably never met – so it’s important to be clear and precise. Thus, well-structured navigation and content organization goes hand in hand with having a good conversation.

Chikezie Ejiasi is an Interaction Designer and is currently a Senior Product Designer at Google, handling VR Design at Google Daydream.

Chikezie Ejiasi grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa – the second largest city in the corn state, with his twin brother and two awesome sisters. He spent his childhood playing NBA Jam than he did toying around with a computer, let alone design or art. He spent his college years as a Computer Science Major at the University of Iowa. After a couple years of Mathematical Induction and Big-O Notation, he wanted to pursue a career in Game Design. So, he started illustrating fantasy-like characters, crafting a JRPG-like story, and looking for schools that could make this dream of mine come true. This was how his journey into Interaction design started.

In a previous life, before going to Google, Chikezie Ejiasi was a Senior Designer at Nest, prior to this he was Interface Designer at Cuban Council and Oakley. When he moved to Google, he was responsible for the interface of the Google+ stream, where he led efforts across various product and feature releases, creating Stream Design frameworks that could be used by designers.Chikezie Ejiasi - Nest

In a Medium post, Chikezie explains how he answers the question, What’s it like being a designer? What do you do?
You have to somehow organize everything you do in a week, month, or year, and try to break it down into some non-tactical summarization. For me, there is no day-to-day routine and it truly depends on what project I’m working on. So depending on the setting and the amount of time I have to answer, my response will generally get distilled down to what tools I use on a day-to-day basis, with a sizable dose of sarcasm.

Right now at Google Daydream(Google’s Virtual Reality product), he handles Interaction Design.Chikezie Ejiasi - Google Daydream
